Overview
Kinetic Type Lab is a personal playground where typography meets real-time graphics. It explores how letters can respond to movement, sound and touch while staying readable.
The challenge
Real-time effects get heavy fast. The goal was to push expressive motion as far as possible while keeping a smooth frame rate on an everyday laptop or phone.
The approach
Each experiment pairs variable font axes with custom WebGL shaders. Letters are rendered as textures and distorted on the graphics card, while pointer and scroll input feed straight into the animation.
The outcome
A growing collection of interactive type studies that run smoothly in the browser and feed fresh ideas into client work, from hero animations to playful loading screens.
